Our History

In 1972 Lester Rovey along with three of his sons Glenn, Leonard, and Stanley started Rovey Seed Company, Inc. in Farmersville, IL. The company got its start cleaning public soybean varieties for farmers. Within a year, Lester started growing white corn on his farm. The white corn and other food grade grain sales quickly became the primary focus of the operation. Today we contract and process food grade grains including non-gmo and organic white, yellow, blue and red corn varieties.

For over 45 years, Rovey Seed Company, Inc. has been producing and selling Quality Food Grade Grains and ingredients to the tortilla, snack and distillery industries. We are continually investing in the latest cleaning equipment and technology to improve our products quality and consistency to give our customers better ingredients for their products.

In 2009, Rovey Specialty Grains, LLC was formed when we purchased a cleaning facility serviced by the BNSF railroad in Inland, Nebraska. In addition, a distribution warehouse center in Rancho Cucamonga, California was opened. These new facilities allowed us to offer our grain products to customers further west. We are now able to cost effectively ship throughout the entire US and overseas.

Today the owners still grow food grade corn on their own farms. We contract our grain directly with growers in areas around our Illinois and Nebraska cleaning facilities. We offer competitive grower contracts for producers who are looking to add to their bottom line.

Three generations of Rovey’s continuing the “Family Value” based business.
